Broken Heart Poems
The pen is mightier than the sword. ~ Edward Bulwer-Lytton
Take away the sword - Hearts can be saved without it!
I have had my heart broken more times than I care to count. I’ve been rejected after the first date never to be called again (even though I thought it went swimmingly!); and I have fallen in love only to find out the “man in my life” did not feel the same. It even hurts when you mutually know that it isn’t going to work out. For being so young (to me anyway) it still amazes me how many times I have felt heartbreak. Of course I have also broken a few hearts of my own, although, I am by no means proud of this fact! But, hey we live and learn.
In all of my experiences, no matter how bad they were or how long it took my heart to heal, I must say at least I have written some pretty awesome poems (if I do say so myself), of course, I’ll let you be the judge. At this point in time, I have written more poems of my heart breaking than I have that of love poems (go figure). Hopefully something I have written may help you reach a different perspective about what ever it is that you are currently experiencing or help you through a difficult time just knowing someone else has been there. Even if your heart is not breaking at the moment, you can simply enjoy the read!
