Bad Body Image
Most of us are all too familiar with how a bad body image can unfavorably affect our sex lives. Looking in the mirror you focus directly on everything you wish you could change about yourself. These clothes don’t fit… I am not thin enough… my breasts are too small… I could use a larger (guys, you know what I am getting at)…
What ever it is that you don’t like, it makes you so uncomfortable and so insecure you may refuse to turn the lights on while you partner is trying to ravish your body. Or maybe you keep some articles of clothing on… Like an old ratty T-shirt. Really? Hell, sometimes you’re not even in the mood just because you feel so frumpy. We were not meant to keep clothes on while having sex; we’re supposed to be naked! And, we are supposed to thoroughly enjoy every bit of it.
Believe it or not, women are not the only ones susceptible to a bad body image. Whether they admit it or not, men are just as self conscious as the ladies. I am here to tell you, man or woman, your insecurities are keeping from enjoying every sexual experience with your partner to the fullest. So, what do you do about it?
Be realistic. If you think your manhood is too small there is really not much you can do about it. It is probably just you and you need to get over it! Your woman wouldn’t be with you if it was that bad (or should I say small), seriously (maybe she is the one who is too big?). Besides, what you may think is small beneath your zipper is certain to fit someone’s vagina perfectly.
Women can fix small breasts by having implants, but who really wants to do that? (Small breasts are sexier anyway!) These are things that you just have to deal with. Kinda like thinking you’re too tall or too short. Well then, find someone who sees small breasts as attractive (many men do). Of course if you decide to get implants, then more power to you. I used to have such a bad body image that I actually considered implants once… then I realized just how sexy I was, small breasts and all.
Feeling dumpy or undesirable? Now this is something within your control. All the rules of turning this bad body image around remain the same regardless of who you are. Maybe you’re a little pudgier or out of shape than you used to be. Solution? Start eating right and exercise! You know what it is you need to do. You know what it is going to take to get your body where you want it to be. It may require skipping the burger at dinner or a mid afternoon snack. Myself, I love wine. It took its toll when I stopped working out for a while. But, I realized what was happening to my body and I wasn’t feeling as sexy as I used to. So, I got off the coach and jumped my butt on my bike and skipped the wine!
You know the old adage “dress for success” and the saying “the clothes make the man?” It’s so true. I work at home so I know this well. During the week my wardrobe consists of sweat shirts and running pants. Not too sexy huh? Yeah, well I started to feel that way as well. The clothes we wear in the bedroom are just as important. Do you think your man will find you more attractive in that bed shirt or a sexy red teddy? I’m guessing for the teddy. It’s o.k. if you have a certain body part you want to hide, the point is they make lingerie specifically for this purpose.
Remember what you wear is as important as how you carry yourself in the clothes. And trust me, the sexier the clothes, the sexier you will feel and the more confident you will become. Of course, most men prefer no clothes at all. Show him that you no longer have that bad body image getting in your way. You can always throw on a pair of hooker boots with nothing else and strut your stuff in front of him blocking the TV. You will look and feel confident and I guarantee he will put down the remote.
